Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors in recent history. Her savacious and vulnerable performances has made her a household brand. Her father was a celebrated playwright, but Linney was raised as an only child with a single mother, a nurse. In the summer and with her father Linney was able to develop a passion for theatre. Her first stage experience was first in Brown University then at Juilliard School. Her career began on Broadway following her graduation, she appeared in films within two years and on television within a year. Her appearances have been on a variety of shows on stage, television and film shows since that time. During her career she received numerous awards including her two Golden Globe Awards. While she has received numerous awards over the years, theater was always her primary interest.
