Jenna Fischer is best known for playing Pam Beesly on the acclaimed TV show The Office The Office, for which she was awarded the Emmy nomination for the Best Supporting Actress as well as two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance from the Ensemble Comedy.
Born in Fort Wayne Indiana, she lived her entire childhood living in St. Louis Missouri. Jenna observed as her mom Anne took part in plays at church. Her love for performance and theater was instilled as a teenager.
She's an actress trained who was back in theater following The Office. The role she played was Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway play Reasons to be Happy. In the following play, she was in Steve Martin's latest play Meteor Shower. It was a comedy that was absurd, starring Greg Germann, Josh Stamberg and ran for record-breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
In October of 2019, Fischer and The Office cast-mate and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey launched the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to been a huge success, landing on the Top Ten globally every week and receiving over 200 million downloads in its initial two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year in January 2021.
She is the author of two books. The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide In it, she describes her journey from St. Louis to Hollywood in order to be a professional actor. She is also the author of Office BFF's: Tales of The Office from Two of the Best Friends who were there (co-authored with Angela Kinsey) The book is an account of their most memorable friendship as well as their work for The Office.
